“On October 27, the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023™️ venues will be handed over to FIFA. There are two types of venues prepared, the first being the match venues, and the other being training fields. We have met all of FIFA’s requests regarding venue standards. Indonesia is ready to be the host,” said Erick during a press conference at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Senayan, (10/10/2023).

FIFA conducted a joint inspection with Erick on Monday (9/10). They used the high-speed train that is planned to be used for transporting supporters of the U-17 World Cup.

Erick Thohir also expressed his gratitude to the government for its support. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has provided significant assistance in the renovation of stadiums and supporting infrastructure. Additionally, Erick is optimistic that Indonesia can achieve FIFA’s target of having 10,000 spectators per match.

PSSI and the U-17 World Cup Local Organizing Committee (LOC) have made several breakthroughs to boost the interest of football enthusiasts in Indonesia. While the sale of match tickets is FIFA’s responsibility, PSSI focuses on promoting and campaigning for ticket sales to make the tournament vibrant with a large number of spectators.

There are various innovations in U-17 World Cup ticket sales that have never been seen in Indonesia before, such as family bundling ticket packages. Families and friends can attend matches together at a special price.

“There will be a bundling system that combines high-speed train transportation with match tickets. We want the public to easily enjoy the U-17 World Cup,” said the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises.

Erick mentioned that international events in Indonesia always receive high enthusiasm. The U-17 World Cup is a world-class tournament, and many international stars will be present, making it highly attractive. The current state of football in Indonesia is conducive, with the Indonesian national team’s achievements on the rise.

To increase public enthusiasm in the lead-up to the U-17 World Cup, LOC is organizing various promotional activities, including the Trophy Experience. This event will showcase the World Cup trophy in four host cities. The trophy, a symbol of supremacy contested by 24 countries, will be exhibited in accessible locations to the general public. Additionally, the Trophy Experience event will feature various supporting activities that attendees can enjoy.
