PROGRES.ID – In a remarkable development for the world of MotoGP, Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Racing Team is gearing up for an exciting partnership in 2024. The team is set to embrace a new title sponsor, Pertamina Lubricants, a prominent Indonesian lubricant company.
VR46, represented by the talented Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini, will henceforth be known as the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. This partnership is set to extend through the years 2024, 2025, and 2026, surpassing the prior agreement with Ducati, which was set to conclude in 2024. In fact, Yamaha has made no secret of its intentions to establish VR46 as their satellite team come 2025.
“PT Pertamina Lubricants will enter the MotoGP arena as the official partner of the VR46 Racing Team for three seasons. Indonesia’s lubricant brand, Pertamina Enduro, will take center stage as the primary sponsor for Tauvilla’s team starting January 1, 2024, under the name Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team,” as stated in the official release from VR46.
The speculation of Pertamina Lubricants becoming the main sponsor of VR46 in MotoGP had been circulating for some time. Pertamina Lubricants is set to replace the previous Italian sponsor, Mooney.
“This is a strategic choice and marks the birth of a new synergy between the VR46 Racing Team, owned by the nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi, and the leading Indonesian lubricant company, Pertamina Lubricants. This partnership will breathe fresh momentum into two entities that are well-established in the world of motorcycle racing, setting the bar for performance and technology,” reads the official statement.
Pertamina is already the main sponsor of the ongoing MotoGP Indonesia, taking place this weekend at the Mandalika International Circuit. The company also supports Valentino Rossi’s car racing endeavors.
“Starting from the 2024 MotoGP season, the Pertamina Enduro logo will be displayed on the Ducati Desmosedici GP motorcycles ridden by Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini, as well as on their racing suits, helmets, technical spaces, and across all visual materials, brand assets, and communication materials of the VR46 Racing Team,” as stated in the official release.
Werry Prayogi, the CEO of Pertamina Lubricants, expressed that this sponsorship marks a testament to the legendary rider Valentino Rossi’s trust in Indonesian products.
