Widespread Access Disruption of Twitter Alias X Across 48 Countries, Including Indonesia

PROGRES.ID– Today(29/08/2023), Twitter users worldwide were taken aback by an access disruption issue that struck the popular social media platform known by the alias “X.” According to data from the traffic disruption monitoring site Downdetector, this issue has affected at least 48 countries, including Indonesia.

In the United States, the country with the highest number of Twitter users, complaints first appeared at 05:59 AM WIB with 129 user reports. However, in a short span of time, this number skyrocketed to 17,111 complaints by 06:25 AM WIB.

The majority of the reported complaints are related to site access (around 83 percent), followed by application issues (around 9 percent), and server disruptions (around 8 percent).

A similar situation unfolded in Indonesia. Complaints emerged for the first time at 06:01 AM WIB and rapidly escalated to 91 complaints by 06:16 AM WIB.

Nevertheless, access to Twitter through the website version (using Chrome browser on Mac) is still possible, and users can still view the latest posts.

As of now, the platform’s owner, Elon Musk, has not provided any response or explanation regarding this access disruption. This has left many users puzzled and speculating about the potential causes of this disruption.

With so many countries affected, the access disruption experienced by Twitter alias X has created a wave of concern and discussions about its vulnerability to technical disruptions.
