PROGRES.ID – Netflix has announced the continuation of Luffy’s adventures, played by Inaki Godoy, in the second season of the live-action adaptation of One Piece. This news has been eagerly anticipated not only by fans and viewers but also by the actors involved in the series.
Emily Rudd, who plays Nami, shared her happiness on social media. In her Insta-Story, she wrote with a joyful smile, “I’m so happy. Thank you, everyone; we love you so much.”
For Emily, portraying Nami is a dream come true. Through her social media accounts, she also expressed her gratitude for this opportunity and the very satisfying results achieved.
“I’ve said it before, but I have to repeat it… I can’t put it into words. Thank you, all of you. This is my dream, and I love you all. I hope it’s your dream too,” she wrote.
Unfortunately, fans of One Piece worldwide will have to wait a bit longer. In an interview with Variety, Tomorrow Studios, the company behind the live-action series, announced that the second season of One Piece will only be released eighteen months after the actors’ demos or the SGA-AFTRA Strike have concluded.
Moreover, negotiations between the actors, the studio, and the producers have not reached an agreement. In their last meeting, Ted Sarandos, the head of Netflix, revealed significant differences in the amounts agreed upon by both parties. Some CEOs even decided not to attend the meeting.
Negotiator from both sides, Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, suggested that Ted and the CEOs of other leading OTT platforms continue negotiations for the benefit of all parties.
He stated, “It’s an irresponsible move for the companies not to continue negotiations. It will harm their employees, the industry, and the shareholders.”
That’s the latest update regarding the second season of the One Piece live-action series on Netflix. Fans will still need to be patient while waiting for the continuation of Luffy and the Thousand Sunny’s adventures.
