JAKARTA, PROGRES.ID – Indonesian company, PT. Pertamina Lubricants, is currently in the exploratory stage to become a sponsor for Valentino Rossi’s racing team, Ducati VR46, in the 2024 MotoGP season.
Intania Prionggo, PR & Support Manager of PT. Pertamina Lubricants, revealed that they are aware of speculations regarding the potential sponsorship of the VR46 team in MotoGP.
Intania explained that as of now, there hasn’t been a final decision regarding the role of being a sponsor for the VR46 team in MotoGP. However, she conveyed that sponsoring a MotoGP team aligns with the company’s goal of strengthening their brand image.
“At this moment, Pertamina Lubricants is actively seeking partners for collaborative endeavors through potential sponsorships that can enhance the global brand image of lubricants,” Intania stated as quoted from CNNIndonesia.com on Thursday (24/8/2023).
The VR46 racing team, founded by Valentino Rossi after retiring from MotoGP in 2021, has been competing in MotoGP since 2022. The team is bolstered by riders such as Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini, and has achieved impressive results, particularly in this season. Bezzecchi has even secured five podium finishes, including two wins in MotoGP races in Argentina and France.
Up to the tenth race of this season, Marco Bezzecchi remains a strong contender for the MotoGP 2023 championship title. This Italian rider has accumulated a total of 183 points, trailing by 68 points from Francesco Bagnaia who leads the current standings.
MotoGP is one of the highly popular sports events in Indonesia. The presence of MotoGP Mandalika has been a significant attraction since its inaugural edition in 2022. The MotoGP Mandalika 2023 event is scheduled to take place on October 15th.
