LOMBOK, PROGRES.ID – Alvaro Bautista, the World Superbike 2022 Champion, praised the Mandalika Circuit as the best track in the world as he returned to Indonesia to race in the WSBK Mandalika 2023. Speaking to CNNIndonesia.com at the Mandalika Circuit on Thursday (2/3), Bautista said, “The Mandalika track is also one of the best tracks in the world. It’s a very enjoyable track, a track that flows so well.”
He added, “This is what makes racing in Indonesia different from Europe. So, I really like coming here again to race.” The WSBK Mandalika will occur at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, on Saturday (4/3) and Sunday (5/3).
Last season’s WSBK champion, Alvaro Bautista, is one of the racers who are very enthusiastic about the WSBK Mandalika 2023 event. Although the weather in Mandalika is very hot, Bautista said he is happy to come to Indonesia. “Indonesia is very hot. But, I’m very happy to come to Indonesia, especially since everyone here also loves motor racing. I’m delighted to be here, even though racing here is very hot and requires strong physical endurance,” he said.
The Aruba.it Racing rider swept the WSBK Australia race held at the Phillip Island Circuit last week, winning Race 1, Race 2, and the Superpole Race. This clean sweep in Australia motivated Bautista to show his best performance in Mandalika.
“Last week was amazing for me because I managed to become the champion in two races, including Race 1, Race 2, and the Superpole. I’m very happy and motivated to start this new season,” said Bautista.
