Red Sparks Dramatically Triumph Over Megawati Hangestri’s “Megatron” Strikes Pink Spiders 3-2

PROGRES.ID – Indonesian women’s national volleyball player, Megawati Hangestri, delivered a brilliant performance with her team, Daejon Cheng Kwang Jang Red Sparks, when facing off against Pink Spiders on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

However, the player affectionately called “Megatron” rose to the occasion. The third to fifth sets belonged to the Red Sparks with scores of 25-22, 25-7, 18-16.

This outstanding and measured performance led Red Sparks to a 3-2 victory over Pink Spiders. This was undoubtedly a heavy blow to the opposing team faced by Megawati.

Furthermore, Megawati displayed heroic play against Pink Spiders, scoring a total of 31 points throughout the match.

This dazzling performance earned Megawati the title of Most Valuable Player (MVP). This individual title is the second for Megawati during her career in South Korea.

Megawati Hangestri was grateful for being able to score 31 points, allowing Red Sparks to achieve a dramatic victory over Pink Spiders.

She attributed her outstanding performance to the contributions of various parties, including the Almighty.

“I am grateful to Allah, my God. Thank you to my teammates and the coaching staff who tirelessly fought until the end of the game,” Megawati said after the match.

“Alhamdulillah, I am very happy, and I can do this because of my teammates. This is a team game, so I couldn’t have reached this point without them,” Megawati added.

She also appreciated the coach’s trust throughout the game.

“Thanks to the coach who believed in me, God willing, I can do my best,” Megawati said.

Pink Spiders’ coach, Marcello Abondanza, expressed his surprise at the outcome of the match between his players and Red Sparks.

“We cannot accept this match as a whole; it was difficult,” he said, as quoted from Naver.

Abondanza mentioned that Pink Spiders lost because they underestimated their opponent after leading 2-0, which led the South Korean players to become overconfident.
