Construction Progress of IKN Reaches 38 Percent, President Jokowi to Hold the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration in IKN Next Year

JAKARTA, PROGRES.ID – On the upcoming date of August 17, 2024, Indonesian President Joko Widodo will lead the commemoration ceremony of Indonesia’s Independence Day, not at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, but in the State Capital City (IKN) Nusantara.

This information was revealed by the Head of IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, after attending a ceremony in the National Axis area of IKN. This development is believed to be in line with the progressing construction of IKN. Currently, the construction progress of IKN has reached 38 percent.
In this project, it’s not only the physical construction of the Presidential Palace that is ongoing, but also the construction of several ministerial offices such as the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg), four Coordinating Ministries (Kemenko), and ministerial residence plots.

Bambang Susantono stated that the progress has now reached 38 percent. “Currently, the progress is at 38 percent. Insha’Allah (God willing), next year there will be visible physical buildings. This not only applies to office constructions but also to the development of other infrastructure basics such as roads, wastewater management, dams, waste management, and other access points that are being accelerated,” explained Bambang.
