PROGRES.ID – Forbes has once again revealed the latest data on the wealthiest individuals on the planet. In December 2023, seven out of the top 10 richest individuals experienced a significant increase in their net worth.

According to Forbes Real Time Billionaires, their collective wealth surged by $30 billion, indicating remarkable growth compared to the previous month, November 2023.

The total wealth of the world’s top 10 richest individuals, when combined, reached a spectacular figure of $1.47 trillion. The majority of them amassed their wealth through the value of shares in companies they founded.

However, the most prominent among the entire list is Elon Musk, who remains steadfast as the most affluent individual globally with a fortune reaching $251 billion or approximately Rp3.876 trillion.

Apart from being the CEO of Tesla, Musk also holds significant stakes in the space company SpaceX and the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

In second place, Bernard Arnault and his family hold a fortune of $200.7 billion or around Rp3.095 trillion. This marks a 1.13 percent increase in the wealth of the owner of the luxury goods company LVMH since December 2023.

The founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos, occupies the third position with a total wealth of $170.8 billion or equivalent to Rp2.652 trillion. His wealth grew by 0.89 percent compared to the previous period.

The list of the world’s top 10 richest individuals as of January 1, 2024, according to Forbes, is as follows:

  2. Bernard Arnault: $200.7 billion (Rp3.095 trillion).
  3. Jeff Bezos: $168.4 billion (Rp2.597 trillion).
  4. Larry Ellison: $135.3 billion (Rp2.086 trillion).
  5. Mark Zuckerberg: $125.5 billion (Rp1.932 trillion).
  6. Bill Gates: $119.6 billion (Rp1.844 trillion).
  7. Warren Buffett: $118.6 billion (Rp1.829 trillion).
  8. Larry Page: $117.2 billion (Rp1.807 trillion).
  9. Sergey Brin: $112.4 billion (Rp1.733 trillion).
  10. Steve Ballmer: $112.2 billion (Rp1.730 trillion).
