Shin Tae-yong Calls Up 27 Garuda Players, Ready for World Cup Qualifiers Against Iraq and the Philippines

PROGRES.ID – Senior National Team coach Shin Tae-yong has announced a list of 27 players called up to face the second-round World Cup 2026 qualification matches against Iraq and the Philippines. These two away matches are scheduled to take place on November 16 and 21.

The match against Iraq will be held at Basra International Stadium, while the match against the Philippines will be held at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

In the announcement, as reported by PSSI.org, it was mentioned that Ivar Jenner and Marselino Ferdinand could not be called up as both are still in the process of recovering from injuries.

This call-up announcement also marks the return of Muhammad Riyandi from Persis Solo, who was previously absent from several matches due to injury.

Additionally, other players who have been given the opportunity include Adam Alis from Borneo FC and Andy Setyo from Persikabo 1973.

Players based overseas, such as Asnawi Mangkualam (Jeonnam Dragons), Pratama Arhan (Tokyo Verdy), Sandy Walsh (KV Mechelen), Jordi Amat (Johor Darul Ta’zim FC), Shayne Pattynama (Viking FK), Saddil Ramdani (Sabah FC), Rafael Struick (ADO Den Haag), and Elkan Baggott (Ipswich Town), remain part of the Garuda squad.

Persib Bandung is the club with the highest number of players called up, contributing three players, namely Marc Klok, Moh Edo, and Rachmat Irianto.

Followed by Borneo FC, Dewa United, Persis, Persija, and Persikabo, each club contributes two players.

All the called-up players are expected to gather in Jakarta on November 11 before getting ready to depart for Iraq that same evening.
