The salaries of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia are regulated by Law No. 7 of 1978 concerning the Financial Rights of the President and Vice President. This law stipulates that the President’s salary is six times the highest basic salary in the country, excluding the President and Vice President. Currently, there have been no revisions to the regulations regarding the salaries of the President and Vice President of Indonesia.

Based on this regulation, the President’s salary is calculated as six times the highest basic salary in the country, which is currently Rp5,040,000. Therefore, the President’s salary is 6 x Rp5,040,000, amounting to Rp30,240,000. The Vice President’s salary is calculated similarly, as four times the highest basic salary in the country, which is also Rp5,040,000. As a result, the Vice President’s salary is 4 x Rp5,040,000, totaling Rp20,160,000.

In addition to their basic salaries, the President and Vice President also receive monthly job allowances, which are stipulated in Presidential Decree No. 68 of 2021. The current job allowance for the President is Rp32,500,000 per month. Consequently, the total income of the President reaches Rp62,740,000 per month.

Apart from salaries and job allowances, the President and Vice President also receive other benefits, including official residences at the Presidential Palace, security provided by the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres), travel expenses, and various other facilities funded by the state.

It is important to remember that the President and Vice President bear significant responsibilities in fulfilling the people’s mandate. They must lead the nation, ensure the smooth progress of development, address issues of poverty, healthcare, and security, and ensure the smooth operation of the state.
