PROGRES.ID– Ticket sales for Taylor Swift’s concert film, The Eras Tour, are rapidly surging. Currently, the film scheduled to premiere on October 13, 2023, has already amassed pre-sale ticket revenue exceeding US$100 million or approximately Rp1.5 trillion (with an exchange rate of US$1 = Rp15,616) globally.
As reported by ET on Thursday (5/10/2023), AMC, the cinema network and distributor of the film, announced that this data has been compiled from various cinema networks and distributors showcasing the film worldwide.
Variety also reported that the film is set to be screened in more than 8,500 cinemas across 115 countries worldwide. With this achievement, The Eras Tour film is poised to become one of the biggest opening debuts in film history this year.
Moreover, several film industry experts anticipate that the film has the potential to gross over US$100 million in just its first week of release in North America alone. If this indeed comes to fruition, it will mark an unprecedented milestone in concert film history.
