JAKARTA, PROGRES.ID – Indonesia Polling Stations (IPS), a survey institution, has released the results of a survey on the electability of Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate for the 2024 election. According to the survey, Prabowo Subianto has the highest level of electability at 33.1%.
Alfin Sugianto, a senior researcher at IPS, explained that in the survey conducted in February, Prabowo’s electability had reached 33.1%, while the electability of Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan remained at around 20%.
Various actions taken by Prabowo, such as frequent interactions with the community, active political communication with several figures, and his performance as defense minister, are some of the main factors that have contributed to the strengthening of Prabowo’s electability and his top position in the survey.
Another significant factor that has contributed to the strengthening of Prabowo’s electability is the increasing explicit support from President Joko Widodo towards the Chairman of the Gerindra Party.
Meanwhile, the public’s choice for vice presidential candidates has also begun to narrow down to several names, including Ganjar Pranowo, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
IPS conducted the survey from February 15 to 24, 2023, in 34 provinces, with the survey population consisting of Indonesian citizens aged 17 and above who have an e-ID card. The survey used 1,200 respondents with a multistage random sampling technique and a margin of error of plus or minus 2.83% and a confidence level of 95%.
